Tis the season to sing together! Come sing with us on the front steps at 301 King St in Pottstown on December 19th at 1pm.
We'll be singing all the favorites, and we'll have warm beverages and chairs for those who need them.
We are also collecting gifts for our community. Regifting on the FBC Steps! Bring wrapped gifts with a description of the gift on the tag. The items can be new or something you’re regifting. We’ll put them on the front steps for our neighbors! The gifts are due by Dec 19th, so you can bring them when you come to sing!
Understanding Christmas - Podcast Study
Would you like to explore Christmas in a different way this Advent season? Join our group listening to and discussing 4 podcast episodes on "Understanding Christmas."
These first four episodes from SALT Project's Strange New World podcast are short at around 20 minutes each, and anyone can join the discussion even if you didn't have time to listen to the episode.
You simply use the links below to listen to the podcast by clicking on the episode title and pressing the play button on the podcast page. Then join the group on Zoom on Monday evenings at 7pm, starting on November 29th. Each week a different host will lead a discussion sparked by what we heard in the podcast.
What's in the jar? ✔Instructions ✔A strip of paper for each day of Advent ✔A candle ✔A small book mark
As you focus on "Making Peace with Christmas" this Advent season, pull one colorful paper strip out of your Advent Mason Jar each day. You'll find brief instructions, scriptures, or prayers that will guide you to reflect or connect. (Take a close look at your jar. It may be an antique! Jars were donated by a church member’s elderly father whose mother used them for canning fruits and vegetables in the early 1900s.)
Each day you can build a paper chain with the strips from your jar. Watch your chain grow...maybe on your mantle or on your Christmas tree! Then on Sundays during Advent, we'll share some of the reflections and connections we made that week.
On Christmas Eve, we'll all gather at 7pm in the courtyard at FBC to worship and sing together. Bring your paper chain to help us decorate!
When Christmas arrives, you can light the candle signaling Christ is born!
